Information about corona/covid-19 and admission

Student residence permits for non-EU students are currently suspended

As a temporary measure due to the COVID-19 situation, the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) is unable to issue student residence permits until 21 April 2021. SIRI will turn down all applications for a residence permit until this date. Consequently, Aarhus University cannot initiate the student’s application for a student residence permit during this period, unfortunately. Aarhus University follows the development closely. Updates will follow on this page. Read more here.

Deferred enrolment is not possible

Aarhus University does not offer deferred enrolment to students who cannot commence their studies due to the COVID-19 situation. Instead, applicants are kindly advised to withdraw from their enrolment and reapply in the next possible round of admissions.

Please note that your paid tuition fee will be reimbursed (until commencement of studies – see below). Your possible tuition waiver or scholarship will also be withdrawn and cannot be guaranteed when you reapply for admission.

Refund of paid tuition fees until commencement of studies

Please note that no refunding of tuition fees is possible after the date of commencement of studies, as the Danish universities do not have the legal basis to do so. If you wish to terminate your enrolment due to the COVID-19 situation, you are required to inform Aarhus University of your decision before commencement of studies 1 September 2021. See payment procedures here.

I have received a reminder regarding missing documentation for my application to a Master's programme. What should I do?

English language test:

We kindly ask you to observe the set documentation deadlines.

Please note that ETS and the TOEFL program have announced that they are close to introducing a secure TOEFL iBT® testing solution that will allow students in some areas that have been affected by the Coronavirus in selected locations outside Mainland China to take the test from home at the end of March, prior to test centers reopening for regular testing. Aarhus University accepts the special home edition of the TOEFL IBT test.

Please note that Aarhus University does not accept the TOEFL ITP Plus which is offered in Mainland China.

Other types of documentation:

Please revisit our updated documentation checklist.

Generally, we urge you to upload the documentation you already have in your possession or are able to access online. An additional stamp and signature is no longer required on official documents. You may also send transcripts and diplomas which you have downloaded from your university’s website. We will let you know if your documents are still insufficient, or if we are no longer able to take them into consideration.

My English test center is closed. What shall I do?

Aarhus accepts the special home edition of the TOEFL iBT test offered in selected areas to meet the needs of students affected by test center closures.

Please note that Aarhus University does not accept the TOEFL ITP Plus which is offered in Mainland China.
