Grants and scholarships
Please note that Aarhus University is generally unable to offer financial support to foreign students, which means that you must either have sufficient financial means to pay your tuition fees and cover your stay in Denmark or apply to your own national authorities for a study grant.
EU/EEA/Swiss students
Aarhus University does not offer any scholarships for EU/EEA/Swiss students, who should be able to support themselves.
Non-EU/EEA/Swiss students
Aarhus University administers a few scholarships financed by the Danish state for highly qualified non-EU/EEA/Swiss applicants to Master’s degree programmes.
The scholarships include either a partial or full tuition waiver, generally, but not always, including a monthly grant towards living expenses.
Students from so-called developing countries (as defined by the Danish Tax Council) can be exempted from paying tax in Denmark.
Please note that the number of scholarships/tuition waivers is usually very limited.
Only very highly qualified applicants can be nominated for a tuition waiver/scholarship, but unfortunately not all very highly qualified students can be nominated for a scholarship/tuition waiver due to the limited number of scholarships available.
Students cannot apply for a scholarship, but can only be nominated through their application for admission for a Master's programme.
Applicants to Bachelor's degree programmes are not eligible for tuition waivers/scholarships.
Student loans
Aarhus University does not offer any student loan service.
